To go ... or not to go ... that is the question?
I'm supposed to be getting ready to go to water aerobics ... but I'm sitting in here reading and writing ... oh, BTW ... I'm drinking a little coffee with my half and half and listening to some great country music on CMT. The Duck has gone to fly and golf .. won't be home until late .. so no 'conscience' to ask me about water aerobics or if I've done my physical therapy. Ooooh, I'd rather go back to bed ... I could even do some chores around here, if push came to shove ... but as much as I dread getting ready (sorry, but I won't go out of the house without eyebrows and lipstick!) I'm always so glad that I've gone to the pool. The DI (as in Drill Instructor who 'teaches' deep water aerobics) is relentless ... picture that scene in Cocoon, all the 'old' folks cavorting in the swimming pool ... or the scene in Titanic, all the bodies bobbing around in the icy water ... that pretty much tells you what we look and feel like. DI has us 'jogging' back and forth until we're actually perspiring (Ladies do not sweat!) We do push-ups, squats, jumping-jacks ... we work ..... and I always feel better afterward. But that's only the beginning of my workout ... in the locker room ... you scramble for a shower (you can forget about modesty here) you try to dry yourself without bumping the tush of other damp, worn out comrades, all while attempting not to fall on the slick floor because you forgot your shower shoes and THEN ... what should be an Olympic event ... try putting a bra on a damp body while maintaining your 'dignity' ... gotta run, don't want to be late!!!!

Personally, I would opt for getting out and moving.
Sandy....! You are such a sweet person. Thank you for coming to the defense of my Bo. I don't know why people have to be mean but it seems some just relish it. Of course, they hide behind their anonymous tag. I left the comment up hoping they will come back by and read my response.
I just have to know....how did you get the title of your blog? I absolutely LOVE it! How hopeful it sounds!
And THANK YOU for signing up to follow. Time is finite and I never take it for granted when someone decides to share part of their day with me. I'm truly grateful. :) Welcome. Looking forward to hanging out with you!
THANK YOU, Robynn ... I found you through my daughter (Bz) hope she doesn't mind my telling you that we're related. I actually decided to start a blog because of her ... and you. I love your positive outlook ... life is too short to waste time being angry, being full of regrets or being sad. And that is one of the reasons that I named my blog "it's never too late for a happy childhood" Bz warned me about 'spilling too much' personal information about myself (for the exact reason that I was so troubled with your 'anonymous commenter'. In a nutshell ... I didn't have a 'Beaver Clever' upbringing ... there was some rough stuff ... it took the love of a wonderful, caring husband (of almost 43 years) and LOTS of therapy (!) to arrive where I am now. I didn't have a happy childhood ... but I discovered that happiness is actually a decision (like making lemonade out of lemons, kinda thing) This may sound very simpleton ... but I LEARN from yesterday, I LIVE for today, and I HOPE for tomorrow. My hospice patients taught me that philosophy ... this is much too long an explanation, I'm sorry, I do tend to ramble, but that's why the title and I, too, look forward to our 'little chats'
Well, I shoulda KNOWN you were so well connected! :)
I LOVE your daughter. Truly. I feel like we're friends outside of the blog world. If I ever get to Texas I'd love to hang out with her.
I'm sorry you had a rough go of it as a child and happy for you that you got to experience healing through good therapy and a kind husband. Therapy was my saving grace as well. Looking forward to getting to know you, too. :)
Thank you for dropping by...
I love BZ, we think so much alike!
From one Grandma to another...
Happy Easter, may it be filled with family, hope, and peace.
